A new United Methodist Health facility has been opened in Nyanza District Kenya.
Kopanga Comprehensive Rural Health Project was opened June 12 2010 by the Resident Bishop of the East Africa Annual Conference Daniel Wandabula.

It attracted hundreds of Kenyans who thronged the area to witness the opening and many marveled to what the Lord had done in this community.

The Nursing Officer in Charge Alice Oloo however told the Bishop Wandabula that the dispensary lacked a delivery coach to enable them to carry out proper examinations and also an ambulance to aid in transporting patients who may be referred to other hospitals or emergences in the dispensary.
The Bishop was nevertheless overwhelmed with the direction the Conference is taking of not only preaching the gospel but also in handling health hazards which may retard the bodies and perhaps create barriers from serving one another.
Mrs. Oloo said that the common diseases in this community include Malaria, Typhoid fever, Bilharzias, malnutrition, Diarrhea, Worm infestation and HIV/AIDS.
The Kenya Projects Coordinator Kephas Oloo said that they need more partners.
“We need funds to complete the Dispensary, fence and survey the land, buy an ambulance, build staff houses and build other structures. We also need moral support and prayer” he said.
The health facility was constructed in collaboration with Partners 4 Progress (P4P) and Julie and Stacey led the team at the opening. more Articles |
