· Lack of income generating opportunities

· Lack of primary health care especially maternal and reproductive health services
· Unsafe water for domestic use
· Oppressive cultural and traditional practices
· Discrimination against women
· Family instability and divorce
· Polygamy
· Girls are treated as assets/property – high bride price demanded
· Women not participating in decision making and governance
