Children of Humble United Methodist School, Uganda recently returned from a two months tour (October–December) in America, creating awareness about Tuberculosis, Malaria and HIV/AIDS in Africa. Their singing of how Africa will be saved was energetic and brought a serious message that faces their lives and This special group under Hope for Africa Children’s Choir sings of major Africa’s challenges like illiteracy, poverty and disease. The Choir is a children’s ministry in East Africa, initiated to reach out to orphaned, abused, and neglected children. Team Leader, Edward Wandera, said “their performance in America was awesome”. The songs exciting message talks about challenge and hope. They sang at Capitol Hill in Washington DC about the trend of HIV/AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis, at a meeting organized by UNAIDS for Senators and Congressmen and also for International World Aids Day. The choir performed in various churches and schools in America including New York and Virginia. A Crossroads UMC - Ashburn, Virginia member; donated $10.000 US to procure 50 Kindles (electronic books). These books will boost the reading habits of Humble School students and expose teachers, and parents to multimedia environment teaching. Bishop Daniel Wandabula was excited to see the Choir back and announced the ministry is growing. The Choir has played a major role as ambassadors because of Jesus Christ. |
