When Hope for Africa Children’s Choir set off for the United States of America last month, many people though it was a small do. That, probably it was one way to take children for a tour.

Well, last Sunday at Wood Lake United Methodist Church in Richmond Virginia, it was all eulogize as people flocked the venue to see and listen to the choir perform.

The auditorium was filled to capacity as there was a silent mood apart from the voices of the little angles.

The one hour concert seemed to be like ten minutes. The gathering kept asking for more. The children sung of friendship, peace, understanding and caring for one another.

Most of the people whom the communicator talked to could not imagine the courage that the children have when sing despite the desperate situation they come from.

“We indeed see hope exhibited in this group and here at Wood Lake UMC, this is a honorable opportunity to learn about the burden of the children’s ministry in Africa. What I must encourage therefore is for the children to share their personal stories so that we can understand more of the situation” said Pastor Peter Mood.

Pastor Mood emphasized if the children can share their experience such as; before they were recruited, after joining and after performances especially in America.

The Team leader Edward Wandera said that the concert in Richmond is so far the best.

“We had good turn up and support right from our coordinator Julie Warren and the various host families.

About the children, Wandera says that they are indeed doing well and happy.

“We have had minor illnesses such as cough and stomach upsets which is mostly as a result of change of environment and food” Wandera said.

Hope for Africa Children’s Choir left for USA October 16 and they are expected to be back in Uganda early December.
