Like the wise men who watched the star shine in the East and decided to embark on the journey to go and see the new born baby, was the mood of excitement expressed at the opening of the United Methodist Bible College (UMBC) in Mukono, Uganda on Monday 9, 2011.

Pastors and Lay Leaders from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda had their bags parked, ready to become the Pioneers of “Baby UMBC”.

‘It is hard to imagine the long awaited opportunity is opened finally here. Praise God for the wise leadership of Bishop Daniel Wandabula and to our sponsors’ the students collectively pointed out.

East Africa Annual Conference Mission Interpreter, Rev. Bruce Stensvad who represented the Bishop, said ‘the Conference is looking for developing, principled leaders to lead and positively impact their communities in transforming the world.

Bruce encouraged the students to work hard and exchange ideas. “Knowledge is wisdom and with this in–service training, you will better guide your congregations. Think outside the box!”

The College Director, Michael Daniels Ssekandi welcomed the students and called for maximum cooperation.

Students elected Rev. Carol Ososo as the chairman of students.
